Dreams

This poem is part of a series written by women living with HIV and AIDS in Central Texas. This poem was originally recited at the Women’s Giving Circle Luncheon on May 6, 2015.

Dream are made for dreamer
That I can’t deny but why do I
See Truth & they only see lies

Dreams are made for dreamers &
someday I will find the dream
that I long for the one I left
behind

When I find my dream again
I’ll hold it close to me, deep
in my heart that’s where it should be

Never let your dreams run loose
just keep them by your side
you’ll never know who they
are the ones that make you
cry

Time ago & time again just
think of what you had remember
your dreams always but not
only when you’re sad

Time ago & time again it seem
to pass you by never let your
dreams run loose just keep them
by your side.
